For five days, thirteen researchers, artists and thinkers come together for a summit by (and in) the sea, to explore strategies towards adapting to life on an indundated, polluted planet. How are our bodies to adapt, our practices to change, in a time of impending inundation? Situated between an oyster farm and a sewage plant, full of holidaymakers and well-to-do escapees from the city, we embark on a process of embodied research and mutual learning that primes us to change the habits of dry land. Curriculum is part planned, part emergent; a laboratory of practices. Starting as upright land mammals, we investigate the environment, consider theories of evolution, assemble material and thoughts, engage in choreographic processes to instill new patterns of perception and relation. We explore movement, sound and communication on land and in water; extensions and prosthetics. How does the body think in water ? We consider mourning, caring, pollution, information: what do we take from, release into, the water? We dive into the sea, finally bring it inside our bodies as sustenance. Below is a visual table of contents of our proceedings.
